Our Story

15 Years Helping People Choose Coverage Confidently

We're an independent agency — not tied to any one carrier — so our advisors recommend what actually fits your life, your family, and your business.

Origin

Meet Quotes started because
the marketplace tool was wrong.

In November 2019, our founder — a software engineer in Austin — sat down to renew his family's health plan on healthcare.gov. The estimator quoted $612/month. He ran the same household numbers against three carriers' broker APIs and got $341/month for an identical Silver plan in the same network. Same coverage. Same doctors. $3,252/year cheaper.

The gap wasn't a bug in healthcare.gov — it was a UI choice. The marketplace tool optimizes for "show the user a plan, any plan, fast." It can't model multiple AGI scenarios, can't cross-check specific doctors, can't compare off-exchange options, and silently rounds your subsidy down.

So we built a quote process designed around the opposite optimization: get one accurate PDF in front of a real person, fast, even if they never buy. That's still the whole company.

How we operate

Quotes are a product, not a lead-magnet
The quote PDF itself is the deliverable. If you never call us back, you still walked away with a real comparison you can use anywhere. That's the whole pitch.
One agent per request
The licensed human who builds your quote is the same one who answers questions about it. We don't pass you down a chain or route by call queue.
Speed is a feature
Median 17-hour turnaround isn't a marketing number — it's a hard internal SLA. If we miss it, the agent gets an automated nudge, then a Slack ping, then a manager review.
Boring data beats clever pitches
Every recommendation is anchored to live carrier rates, the current APTC tables, and your specific network needs. No "trust me" — every number on the PDF is sourced.

What we promise

One accurate quote. One licensed human. Under 24 hours.
No fee. No spam. No surprise call queue.

Not a marketplace · Not a bot

What you get here
vs. what you get there.

Four head-to-heads against the two places most people get a quote first — healthcare.gov and the lead-gen comparison sites.

Carrier coverage
Healthcare.gov shows on-exchange plans only. Comparison sites show whichever carrier paid most for placement that week.
All 50+ carriers in your state — ACA, off-exchange, short-term, and supplemental — ranked by fit, not by who pays our bills.
Subsidy accuracy
The marketplace estimates your subsidy from a single AGI guess. Wrong by even $5K and you owe it back next April.
We model three AGI scenarios, flag clawback risk, and lock in the tier that's safe across all three.
Who answers your questions
Captive agents who only sell one carrier. AI chatbots that can't read a benefits booklet. Call-center reps reading a script.
One licensed broker in your state who actually opens the plan documents before recommending anything.
What happens to your info
Lead-gen sites resell your phone number to 6–12 captive agencies. Expect 40+ calls in the first week.
One agent. No resale. Encrypted at rest. Deletable on request. Verifiable in our privacy policy.
Real switch stories

Six real quotes.
Six real switches.

Each card shows the plan they were on, the plan they switched to, and the actual annual savings. Names initialized for privacy; numbers are not.

Healthcare.gov quoted me $612. Meet Quotes ran the same ZIP and found a Cigna Silver plan with the same network for $341 after my recalculated subsidy. I'd been overpaying for 14 months.

I was 61, between jobs, on a $700 short-term plan that didn't cover my BP meds. They found an ACA Silver plan that did, for $228 after subsidy. Three of my four prescriptions dropped to $10.
